...Fresh New Start...
So, this is a fresh new start...I don't know how many I have had but this one seems like a real one...I have a new apartment, right on Sunset Cliffs, new way of thinking, new career...I will be teaching Yoga in a classroom setting, which means I have a lot of things to figure out...I know i will figure this all out...I am a leader and I will be successful...First things first, the pose of the day that we will do is an easy one: Vrksasana~Tree Pose...This is a basic standing balance pose which requires stabilizing your torso and pelvis while standing on one foot...Standing with your feet together, spine tall, head facing forward, put your weight on your right foot...This means you have to slightly bend your left knee...Placing your palms together at heart center in prayer position begin to lift your left knee up towards your chest...Grab your foot with your right hand and gently place it as high as you can on your inner thigh, heel towards your pelvis and toes facing down...Your left knee should be pointing to the left wall and your tailbone should be down and not sticking out...hands in prayer position, lift your chest up to open your heart and stretch out of your pelvis...If you feel comfortable start to raise your hands up to the sky in the shape of a V...And if you are feeling totally balanced, look up to the sky in between your beautiful branches, Tree Pose!...Come back out the same way you came in, bringing your head forward and straight, hands back down to heart center, releasing your foot and bringing your knee to your chest and slowly lowering down...Fun!...Now do this on your left side for equal balance...This pose lengthens your Latissimus Dorsi, Teres Major, and Triceps...It works your Infraspinatus, Teres Minor, Deltoids, Supraspinatus, Serratus Anterior, and Triceps...You can practice against the wall for support and extra security...Remember, do not let your butt stick out in this pose...Nice equal breaths help you stay focussed...Practice as often as you can today, I am going to practice after each time I go to the bathroom! LOL...All in good health! Peace & Love...
